Dharma Here and Now: a day of practice for body, heart and mind

25th April

In person

Cultivating mindfulness, kindness, calm and insight engages and nourishes all aspects of our being. During this daylong retreat, we will practice bringing greater awareness, ease and balance to body, heart and mind. With relaxation and balance, mindfulness becomes easier to sustain and wisdom naturally starts to grow, so that we can relate more skilfully to the different circumstances of our lives.

Supports for practice will include shared silence, dharma reflections, guided meditation, mindful movement practice (qigong) and the opportunities for questions and responses. The mindful movement offered will be adaptable for all abilities and energy levels.

About the Teacher

Jaya Rudgard began her contemplative practice in the Thai Forest Tradition of Theravada Buddhism. She spent eight years as a nun at Amaravati and Chithurst monasteries in the UK, and later practised and trained as a teacher at Insight Meditation Society and Spirit Rock in the USA with Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield, as well as studying and teaching Mindfulness based applications for several years. She now serves on the Gaia House teacher council in the UK and on the faculty of Bodhi College,  and leads retreats internationally. She has a longstanding love of movement practices and is a certified advanced Holden Qigong teacher, and also teaches qigong online.
