In this daylong retreat, Lama Rod Owens will explore deepening commitment to community and integrating social justice and dharma practice through meditation, discussions, small group interactions, and movement practice. In his recent co-authored book, Radical Dharma, he explains how the legacy of racial injustice plays out in society at large and Buddhist communities in particular. This urgent call to action outlines a New Dharma that considers the ways that racism and privilege prevent our collective awakening. On a visit from the US, Lama Rod is travelling around the UK opening conversations that bring together the Black prophetic tradition and the wisdom of the Dharma. Bridging the world of spirit and activism, he urges a compassionate response to the systemic injustices of our times.
