Sunday 26 Jan 2-5pm
Winter is a time of stillness, rest and rejuvenation in the woods. The birds are quiet. The earth is dormant. The trees are fortifying themselves for spring. What better place to practice steadying our minds round the campfire with others?
This retreat will take place from 2-5pm in a private, eight-acre woodland. There are multiple circles for group practice and many trails to explore. Rain is not a problem as many areas are covered by parachutes. There are also compost toilets.
After a brief orientation around the theme, silence starts as we sit for about 30-40 minutes around the campfire. We then move into guided nature meditations, walking practices and further sitting meditations. The session closes with sharing our reflections.
Nature meditation retreats are suitable for anyone with basic meditation experience. The woods are eight miles outside of Bristol near Abbot’s Leigh. To get there, we arrange lift shares or you can bike or take a bus. The contribution for woods hire is £7 with full and partial bursaries available. Please ask if needed.
