Vibrantly coloured leaves fall, the spacious tree canopy opens up, squirrels scurry to bury nuts and we sit round the flickering campfire practising. Being still in the woods in the autumn can be so precious.
We offer these monthly nature meditation retreats to help you connect with the peace, beauty, joy and nourishment of the woods. We have exclusive use of a private, eight-acre woods with two streams, multiple circles for group practice and surrounding fields. Rain is not a problem as there are many covered areas. Plus in the colder months, we have a campfire to keep warm.
Each session has a theme. After a brief orientation, silence starts as we sit for about 40 minutes, then move into personal practice (which includes hot drinks and vegan flapjack!) followed by a guided nature meditation. The session closes with a sharing and lasts about three hours.
Nature meditation retreats are suitable for anyone with basic meditation experience. The woods are eight miles outside of Bristol near Wraxall. To get there, you can drive, bike along the beautiful cycle path 34 or take the X9 which goes every hour on Sundays. We also have carpooling.
