Pain, Pleasure & Beyond: practising with how it feels

A led Day Retreat with Bernat Font-Clos

Saturday 19th March 10.00 am – 5.00pm

All experiences – whether sensory, mental, emotional – are either pleasant, unpleasant or neutral. This pleasure-pain spectrum, called feeling tone or tonality (vedanā), became central in the Buddha’s teaching.

Feeling tone guides our attention, behaviour, reactive patterns… But we can learn to relate to it more spaciously and mindfully, so that instead of being the source of clinging, aversion or distraction, it becomes a source of joy, compassion and wisdom.

This daylong retreat will include enquiry, meditation and talks, exploring how to practice with feeling tones in our meditation and our daily lives.

The schedule will be relaxed and include Dhamma reflections, guided meditations and an opportunity for Q&A. The retreat is open to all levels of meditational experience.
